What happens when I apply

If you already have a school place

If you have a place at an independent school and apply for the essential or boarding programme, we will liaise with the school prior to your arrival and purchase any school supplies such as towels or bedding, as required. We will meet you at the airport (if pre-arranged) and take you to your school. You will be given a pack with information on your school, the local area and British culture.

If you have a place at an independent school and have applied for the homestay programme, we will match you with a suitable host, meeting as many of your requirements as possible. Subsequently if you are happy with this match, we will send you contact details of the prospective host in order for you get to know each other before your arrival date.

Upon arrival, we will meet you at the airport (if pre-arranged), and introduce you to your host family. You will be given a pack with information on your school, the local area, British culture and how to make your stay with a host family a successful one. We will registered with a local GP.

You will be given assistance to open up a UK bank account (for long-term students who require one), and to purchase your school uniform if required. On your first day of school, you will be accompanied to school by a member of Alpha Guardians team.


If you need a school place:

Once we have received the full application and supporting documentation, we will make an application to one, or several schools. We will also commence matching you with a suitable host family that meets as many of your requirements as possible. During this process we will be in regular contact with you/your agent to keep you updated on the application and host family placement.

Once the school and host family have been confirmed, we will send you details of both the school and family. We will give you contact details of the family in order for you get to know each other before your arrival date. Upon arrival, we will meet you at the airport (if pre-arranged), and take you to your host family. You will be given a pack with information on your school, the local area, British culture and how to make your stay with a host family a successful one. You will be registered with a local GP.

You will be given assistance to open up a UK bank account (for long-term students who require one), and to purchase your school uniform if required. On your first day of school, you will be met by a member of Alpha Guardians team to help introduce you to teachers and students, and sign any relevant documentation.
